Combining Digital and Physical Manufacturing Processes

The partnership between OPEN MIND and LANG Technik brings together two key areas of the CNC process chain: digital planning and programming with hyperMILL and precise workpiece clamping on the machine. Both companies share a large common customer base as well as a commitment to implementing demanding manufacturing processes efficiently and reliably.

LANG’s clamping technology can be integrated directly into the digital manufacturing process: Users can easily import the 3D data of LANG clamping fixtures into hyperMILL and then use it for programming and NC simulation. This allows the actual clamping situation to be taken into account as early as the digital planning stage and reproduced in detail all the way through to simulation.

Numerous jointly implemented applications and projects demonstrate just how well the two technologies complement each other in practice. LANG also uses hyperMILL in its own technology center, while the collaboration is continuously brought to life through joint demo parts, trade show appearances, and other technology projects.

Technical Synergies & Added Value for Your Manufacturing Operations

The integration of hyperMILL with the 3D data from LANG clamping devices makes it possible to incorporate the actual clamping situation into digital process planning at an early stage. This way, important parameters for the subsequent machining are already incorporated into the programming and simulation.

Plan the clamping setup digitally 3D data from LANG clamping fixtures can be imported quickly and easily into hyperMILL and used for programming. This allows the actual clamping situation to be taken into account as early as the machining planning stage.
Reliably Simulate Machining Processes The imported clamping devices are also accurately modeled and accounted for in the NC simulation. This makes it possible to verify the interaction between the tool, workpiece, and clamping device even before actual machining begins.
